INJ Domain Name Pre-Registration: Everything You Need to Know

Injective is launching the first-ever native .inj domains with SPACE ID, and the pre-registration event is just around the corner!

What are .inj domain names?

INJ domain names are decentralized names that can be used across wallets, websites, dApps, and more across the Injective ecosystem. Owning an INJ domain name will give you a number of benefits, including:

• A personalized Web3 brand identity
• Short and easy-to-remember domain names instead of complex wallet addresses
• The ability to easily transact crypto, NFTs, and digital assets using your custom .inj domain

Who is eligible for pre-registration?

The most active Injective community members will be the first to have the opportunity to pre-register for .inj domain names. This includes anyone who has participated in an INJ ID Quest or won a giveaway campaign hosted by an Injective partner.

How do I pre-register?

The pre-registration process will consist of two stages: an auction stage and a first-come-first-serve (FCFS) registration stage.

Auction stage:

• Only whitelisted addresses will be eligible to participate in the auction stage.
• The auction will last for five days.
• The starting bid price for 3/4/5+ character names is $180/$40/$4.5 worth in INJ, respectively.
• If you are outbid by others, you can choose to continue bidding on that name or get a refund. If you get a refund, you will not be able to recover the bid quota to bid on another name.
• By winning the auction, you win the right to register the name. The auction winner can choose to register for 1 year (default) or longer. The first-year registration fee is already embedded in the auction, so the first-year registration will be free.
• In the last 15 minutes of the auction, every new bid made will reset the remaining auction time to 15 minutes.

FCFS registration stage:

• The FCFS registration stage will start soon after the auction stage ends.
• This phase will last for five days.
• Auction winners will be able to register the .inj names they won, while others can register the rest of the names on a FCFS basis, based on their remaining quota.

When does pre-registration start?

The exact date for the start of pre-registration has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be in the near future.

After pre-registration has ended, public registration will open to everyone. Trading of .inj domain names will also be supported on NFT marketplaces on Injective.
